Delete your account

You can close a SnipInvoice login without the app installed. This page does not require you to sign in.

In the app

Open More, then Delete account. The same screen is under More, then Settings, then Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm.

The owner using that screen closes the business for everyone on it. An invited team member using the same Delete account screen deletes only their own login. The business stays.

On the website, if you own the business

  1. Sign in at snipinvoice.com/account. The app signs in with email and password. The website also offers Continue with Google.
  2. Open Business, then Profile (/account/business/).
  3. Under Delete account, type the business name and confirm.

That closes the business for everyone on it. It takes effect when you confirm. There is no waiting period on this path. The website control is for the owner. An invited member deletes their login in the app.

If you cannot use the app or the website

Email [email protected] from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. Write from that address so we can tell the request is from the account holder.

What an owner closing the business deletes or anonymizes

This is what closing the business does:

  • The owner's sign-in is revoked and that Firebase Authentication user is deleted, unless the owner also belongs to another SnipInvoice business. In that case this business closes and the sign-in for the other business stays.
  • People who belonged only to this business are anonymized: email and phone are removed, and the device identifier stored on that user is cleared. On Android the app reads ANDROID_ID. On iOS it reads identifierForVendor. If the phone cannot read that value, it uses a random id. The website uses an id generated in the browser. We store it when the account is created, not on each later sign-in.
  • Someone who also belongs to another SnipInvoice business loses access to this one and keeps their own sign-in. Their sign-in account is not deleted.
  • The business profile is cleared: name, address, phone, email, tax ID, and license number.
  • Customers on the customer list are anonymized. The name is replaced, and the email, phone, address, and notes are removed.
  • Invitations are anonymized, and a pending invitation is revoked.
  • Voice transcripts are deleted.
  • We don't store your voice recordings. Audio is sent to our AI provider to turn it into text, and we don't keep it afterwards. If a recording file is still in storage, we try to remove it. If the business has a logo, we try to remove that file too, unless a document we keep still shows it. A logo on a document already sent stays on that document. A failed storage delete is logged and the account still closes.
  • A live Stripe subscription is cancelled immediately. You are not refunded. Stripe keeps its customer record for its own payment records. A Stripe payout account, if this business has one, stays with Stripe.
  • An App Store or Google Play subscription is not cancelled here. The store keeps billing until you cancel it in your Apple or Google account.

What an invited member deleting their login does

This removes that person from the business. Clients, invoices, estimates, voice transcripts, the logo, the subscription, and every other person stay as they are. The business is not closed.

  • If this is their only SnipInvoice business, their sign-in is revoked and that Firebase Authentication user is deleted. Email, phone, and the stored device identifier on that user are cleared.
  • If they also belong to another SnipInvoice business, they lose this membership and keep that other sign-in.

What is kept

Invoices, estimates, line items, and payment records are kept as they were sent, including the customer and business details printed on them. The invoice PDFs stored with those records are kept too. Deleting an account does not remove them, and the product has no separate expiry for those files. They are records of real transactions. Tax rules require those records to exist, and a customer who paid may need proof of the invoice.

The audit row for the deletion keeps the email of the person who confirmed. Older audit rows are kept, with the name and email recorded when each action happened. Consent records are kept: who accepted, which document and version, how they accepted, when, and the IP address if one was stored. None of those rows are deleted when the owner closes the business or when a member deletes their login.

You can export first. On the same Business page, choose Download my data. In the app, the same export is under Settings. The export is a file on your device. Deletion is not reversible.

The same detail is in the Privacy Policy, section 9.
